Friday, March 19, marked the 2010 HCDA's Give Kids a Smile Event®. 11 dentists and 3 hygienists volunteered for this event. In addition, 18 dental assisting students from Erwin Technical Center and Hillsborough Community College also volunteered. McDonald's donated breakfast and East Coast Pizza donated lunch. Thank you to the Board and staff at the Suncoast Community Health Center for hosting the event. A special thank you to Dr. E. Cerveny, Dr. Valdez and the entire dental team as Suncoast for making this event a success. Also, thank you to Jeannette Fleischer, ARNP, for bringing The Ronald McDonald Mobile Dental Unit to the event and More Health, Inc. for providing an oral hygiene education program to the children while they waited to be seen. Fifty-four children received free dental services which included prophylaxis, exams, radiographs, fluoride, sealants, stainless steel crowns, extractions, oral hygiene instruction, pulpotomies and restorative dentistry. Patients were given educational material in the form of a fun workbook, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and an American Dental Association National Children's Dental Health Month Poster. The total dollar value of dental services donated was $68,100.00. |

![]() Dr. Vicki Lindauer and Dr. Alina de la Torre held their annual GKAS day on February 6, 2010. Their fun event treated 20 children from the Hope's Children Home. Along with Dr. Lindauer and Dr. de la Torre, four hygienists, two assistants and two office staff volunteered to deliver over $5,225.00 in dental services. |
